Re: 730N Navigation

Hi everyone
I am new to the Forum and this is my fisrt post, I just purchased a 2011 Overland in October I was under the impression form the Dealer that 730 RER radio was available, however when the car arrived it came with a 430N which I did not want I sopke with the dealer and he aggred for a fee to change out the 430N for a 730 RER that he had in another 2011 Jeep Limted
I paid the fee and he made the swap, now 2 weeks later the dealers call and says there is a problem that the 730 RER has to come out and the 430 has to go bac, and that you can not change out the Radios as it will Void the Warrenty and will mess up the computer
I find this very hard to bellieve as he had and Overland in the showroom with an 730 RER and a limted with and RER in them
Now the dealr wants the car back right away to make the change back
My gut feeling is the dealer is trying to sell another Overland that has a 430N in and his customer wants the 730 RER
I can't believe that you can not replace the 430N with a 730 RER
Thanks for your help
Bob

Let me explain. The 430N comes with a USB/Ipod port in the armrest storage area, and the 730N doesn't.

Now that your old 430N is in a Jeep that had a 730N (and no USB in the armrest), there's no way for the 430N to be connected to an IPOD, and the dealer probobly just realized this.

There are no computer or warranty issues (all mopar accessories, including GPS units, are covered, even when installed after purchase). He's lying to you.

F**k them. They'll have to order a replacement 730N for the limited (they are still available to order seperately. If they had been honest, I might work with them, but after trying this BS, no way, keep the 730N, it has terrific navigation.

Re: 730N Navigation

Give them back the 730 for now and I would make them upgrade you to the new 730N in January when it comes out for free. That's what I would do, if they won't screw um.

Re: 730N Navigation

Sounds like the dealer has a problem, but you did nothing wrong. You only wanted to get the radio you had ordered initially. If the dealer was on the ball he could have researched and known that the RER was already beyond its order date in October (last RER order date was in September).
So I have to agree that you have no obligation to give up the radio you ordered and even paid a transfer fee for. The dealer can solve this problem without you. If he raises a stink, time to find a new dealer. You can take the vehicle to any dealer for warranty work.

+1 Keep the 730 you paid for.
