Yeah... he was talking about potentially swapping RHB for RER, so wanted to point out the interface differences, since it would not be a clean "plug and play" swap.

I do not see music info in the EVIC when the iPod is hooked up. I also haven't seen the album artwork feature work yet.

That's disappointing, wk2jeeps has the 730N RER listed with "Uconnect Voice Command of phone, radio and music"

voice control of music would be a cool feature

Re: 730N Option?

Does the 730N RER have Sirius Travel Link, or is that going to added on the 730N RHR?

They probably are a lot easier, I'll be OK without it

http://www.wk2jeeps.com/wk2_navigation.htm has RER including the music/audio voice control

Integrated Voice Dialogue System (SDS):
  • Command and control of Audio, navigation and Phone functions

Sorry, I should have been more specific. RER does not have voice command for iPod music (you cannot voice command music from an iPod connected to the iPod Control cable).

With all of the other radios, you have voice command of music from devices connected to the center console USB port (including iPods).

There is an option of adding an IPOD integration harness separately to the RER. I'm assuming that will give me the same capability as the factory install?

I am not sure why would you connect ipod and not copy all music files to the RER. I would understand if you have more than 30GB of music ... that is a lot of music ...

I was just proposing that if you want the voice control, you can copy the music and get that feature (this is what I plan to do) ... fyi, I am not a big ipod fan. I don't see the benefit of having another device with me. I would understand the iphone used as an ipod, however for me I am a blackberry fan and no iphone ...
