730n RER - anyone updated their map database yet?

Lately released map database update at Navigation.com for $149. Anyone done it yet? I'd expect more complete coverage, but any noticeable differences in capabilities or performance?

thx

I came here to ask the same question. Do your maps seem to be pretty old?

Re: 730n RER - anyone updated their map database yet?

My '11 WK2 was built in Feb, 2011. The map data is what came from the factory. It seems to be fairly accurate, but a two year old subdivision near my home is not shown on the maps. Some POIs are also inaccurate. I don't mind spending money for an upgrade, but wish there was a way to see a sample of the new data.

Re: 730n RER - anyone updated their map database yet?

I just posted this in another thread.

I have an 11 SRT Challenger and received my navigation disk today. When I updated it isn't the very latest database (I have a Garmin as well from a previous car). For comparison sake, the latest Garmin City Navigator is 2013.30. The Navteq DVD seems to be the same as the previous Garmin 2013.20. I have a new tollway with two new interchanges that were built recently by my house plus a few other minor road changes. The interchanges are now both complete, however 2013.30 includes the second new interchange while 2013.20 did not. I have no idea how these versions correlate to the Navteq update disk version.

It's close but its not the most up to date compared to a Garmin with lifetime map updates. For me it was worthwhile but your mileage may vary.

FYI, inside the manual it has some statistics. Nothing mentions miles of new road but it does highlight points of interest.

What's new... 2,313,654 individual points of interest.

Key highlights include:
Over 478,573 Restaurants
Over 74,904 Hotels
Over 133,125 ATMs
Over 111,204 Gas Stations

Re: 730n RER - anyone updated their map database yet?

Mine were updated in December as part of the Chrysler provided update package for folks with vehicles manufactured between 1 Jan 2012 and 30 June 2012. There were noticeable improvements in the maps, but some more recent construction completions were not included. An example of something missing is the cross-county route from I-95 north of the I-495 DC Beltway over to I-270 beyond Rockville MD...still driving through "wilderness" according to the map.

That's pretty bad since the Intercounty Connector opened at the beginning of 2011; it's almost been two years.

Re: 730n RER - anyone updated their map database yet?

I didn't realize it's been open that long, SMG1. I've only traveled it a few times to avoid a "peak" traffic backup situation on the beltway when heading to my office in Fairfax.
