Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

Are you sure it wasn't a $305 credit off the sticker for substituting the 430? I hope you are right! That would be great news.

Nope ... it is a CHARGE, not a credit. Will post the link to the window sticker in a few minutes (I have to look it up again...I printed it out).

joebinotto -

See: http://www.Jeep.com/hostc/getWindowS...RR6GG0BC534856

Let me know what you think? I added it up and it is definitely a credit. Oddly, the dealer website lists the price as $43,220 but the window sticker says $43,525 which is exactly a $305 price difference. I would think the window sticker would be more accurate???

WOW, that is interesting! I can't tell if it is the older RER or the new RHR. Someone probably can tell when this was built via the VIN number. If this was recently built, it may be RHR. I have never seen it added like that before since the 730 is standard (thus only seen the credit). But I did the math and it seems to indicate this has a 730. Gives me a glimmer of hope.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

joebinotto - I would like to know the build week too...that would be helpful for sure. Oddly, how can it list a 430N if, as I understand it, only came out AFTER the old 730N RER. The best explanation is that the 430N was the standard in the system and the 730N is new and hence an upgrade. Previous posts by others say that the 730N was supposed to be standard but the 430N was substituted and a $305 CREDIT was given. This is the opposite as now the 430N is standard and the $305 CHARGE is given to upgrade to 730N.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

Dan, it doesn't make any sense. They shouldn't be adding the costs since it is allegedly standard but this is Chrysler. I am certain there are guys on this site that can tell us the production date.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

joebinotto - Others have posted that the old 730N RER WAS standard and with the 430N substituted but THEN the 430N became the new standard instead (once the old 730N RER was ended). So that would then make sense that during the transition from 430N standard to the new standard of the new 730N RHR for the Overland that it would be an upgrade as they work that through the ordering system.....

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

My overland was built on Oct 10th with the 730N RER.The 430N has always been the standard nav system in the Overland, but for $305 you could get the upgraded 730 RER as an option. Thats why on the top of the sticker it's says standard equipment unless replaced by optional equipment. So under standard equipment it would list the 430N then on the left side of the sticker the 430 would be replaced by the 730N for $305

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

@plynn7, I don't think the 430N was ever standard on the Overland. All the first Overlands were equipped with 730N (RER) and it was considered standard. Late summer or early fall due to supplier issues, Jeep started to install the 430N and provided a $305 credit. Maybe it then became the de facto standard but that was never Jeep's original intention for the Overland. That is why I find this sticker so interesting.

At one point the 730 was an option, I shopped the Overland since mid summer and bought one in October and all the Overlands with the 730 had and optional equipment charge of $305. The base price was $41,910 with the 430 as the nav. Then Jeep raised the base price to 42,215 and included the 730 as standard. So when there is a credit of $305 it is becasue they raised the base by $305. Then when the 730 was no longer avalible, the credit was issued and the 430 became standard again. I still have my original window sticker and under the optional equipment there is a charge of $305 for my 730N and the base price was 41,910.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

That makes sense. I didn't know that. Thanks. So the question would be is this a 730 RER or RHR? I bet it is the RER. I don't think they have installed any of the RHR yet.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

When I was at the dealer, I perused through the glossy insert that compared the Overland/Limited/Laredo. It made no mention that the 730N (RHR) was a late availability option. (although on other materials it does) I really wanted the travel link, voice text ability and voice controlled iPod control.

I had *thought* that I researched the vehicle fully, it appears that I did not, which is my own damned fault. Looking back, it seems I didn't ask enough questions and the salesperson didn't provide clear enough answers.

But... the bottom line is simple. Would this have caused me to wait to buy the Overland? Probably not. I wanted the Overland and my impatience would have gotten the better of me anyway.
