I much prefer the "C".....and the RHR. But heck, that's just me....I like the big radios! LOL

What I was asking in my last post was with respect to the 430N update...is it a software only update or a hardware update? All the navs have upgradeable software, that isn't in question.
Software alone can't change a console iPod cable to an armrest USB port (part of the RER to RHR changes), but features could be added (doubt they will).

As for the 430N, I don't know why you'd expect an actual hardware upgrade; the items that need fixing are software level fixes.

The 430N upgrade was per another person's post....that is why I wanted clarification if what they were expecting was just a software update to the 430N or a hardware update too.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

i have the 430N i plugged a usb sandisk which i loaded a whole bunch of artists. the 430N recognizes this as opposed to my ipod touch. But when i load the usb in the arm rest not all of the artists are on the screen. when i goto "all songs" their not in artist order and not all play. does anyone know how to fix this?

Are all the songs in the same format such as AAC (current download format for iTunes)?

No when I dragged them into the folder on the computer it says it's a m4a file.

The reason why I was asking is if some are one format and others a different format, perhaps they don't all include the metadata which includes the info on the songs such as title, artist, album, etc.

Personally, I put everything in the AAC format when I rip CD's into iTunes (there are different ripping options) and when songs are bought through the iTunes store just to keep everything consistent. Plus, all of my songs are DRM free. When I get my new Summit, I'll see if it works right or not....

Good luck.

Any songs with a m4a extension are purchased songs with DRM (Digital Rights Management). They will not be recognized or copied. If you convert the songs to mp3 format/extension they will be recognized from a USB stick.

I've been able to successfully load and play back m4a music files on my 430n. I'm pretty sure that it's m4p (protected) files that will give you trouble.

The MSRP on the RHR radio is $1950.00. You *might* be able to find a dealer who would sell one for $1500 or less. It'll be awhile before any hit the used market.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

We bought our overland in Sept. We do have the 730 RER. Our hope is that they use a software update to add the SMS bluetooth feature. Wouldn't think it would be anything major.

Is there any idea on when the possible update would be?

By the way found this site a little late but love it.
