By the way found this site a little late but love it.
The 2.401 update is out. I applied it earlier (you'll have to search the web for the file and the instructions), but I'd be really surprised if we ever see RHR features added to the RER. They could, but I just don't see Chrysler/Harmon as really caring about adding features to a no longer produced system.

Tech, Thanks for the response. I will look for the 2.4 update and what bugs it fixed.

So all I want for Christmas (2011) is hands free texting for the RER.

Can anyone post the link to the 730N RER 2.4 update. I can't seem to find it. The official my gig site doesn't even have it.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

So, I was on the phone today with a dealer here in California reviewing pricing for a Summit. As I stressed that it must be with the new 730, he said the following (paraphrasing): For sure you will receive the new 730N but there is a good chance the Summit will come with an even better & newer nav system. Jeep is running low on the new 730 and he heard they are planning on using a 4th new media system! Interesting! But just rumors for now.

No, he did understand all three systems. But you are correct, they know very little. I was told in the summer (from some other salesman) that the Overland could get the 830N. I was wondering if that was the media center he was thinking of. Someone told me it would fit.

Yeah im pretty sure none of the guys you talked to know what they were talking about. Especially after saying the Jeep may get the 830N, which after only 2 minutes of research I can see that wont be happening lol.

Im pretty sure I dont want this in my Jeep

Maybe the 130.....LOL

It is clear to me that Jeep (Chrysler) needs to graduate from their hodgepodge IT systems to a comprehensive Knowledge Management system integrating everything soup to nuts which would help with supplier issues, dealer education, customer communications, etc.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

I order a Canadien Overland on Dec/13 and call back to change the color on Jan/5, I ask to have the new RHR and the company told the dealer that all new Overland build in mid January will have the RHR... There is no more RER????

Ordered: 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland,4x4 V6,Brilliant Black, sadle, skid plates, tow looks( are at the chrome shop), ACC Package, 20" chrome wheels option.
Ad on: tinting front window, shark fin, clear bra, chrome fog light bezels, mesh grille, chrome monster hook in the back.

Correct. RER is done. It ceased being available as an option for orders several weeks go. From here on out, all new orders will have the RHR.

That's where some confusion comes in. 730N (RER) was supposed to be standard on ALL Overlands but at some point that was changed to the 430N with the 730N (RHR) being standard on the Summit only. As an interrim the 730N (RER) was an available option for the Overlands for a while. To make it even more confusing Jeep threw in some 730N's (RER) on some Overlands built in December without charging the customer the additional $305 for the 730N. Now the 730N (RHR) is a $465 option on non-Summit Overlands.

At least that's what I've been able to glean from all the posts on the forums.

It's all clear as mud.............
