Check out this sticker for a Summit. They deleted the 730n for a 430N. $305 credit, not $460??

Many of the available summits I have found are just like that, with a credit being applied because of the 430n. That's why I ended up ordering.

I would assume not. Havent personally seen or heard of a radio that could except in a commercial I saw for one of the new Buicks. Lets just put it this way I would be veeerrryyyy surprised if the new 730 did. Either way though doesnt seem like an option I would care about. I rarely listen to live radio its either always MP3's through the USB or hard drive or satellite radio.

$305 has been the credit for the 430N in place of the 730N (RER).

The RHR isn't in production yet, so any estimates based on that are premature. It's orderable, but they have yet to roll off the line.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

I have an Overland bought it back in fall, went through all this confusion on the nav unit, ended up requesting the higher end unit which was on the demo vehicle but was unable to get it. The Garmin unit works nicely, but does not have traffic updates on it, but the Sat Radio has a station with the audio. I would have been extremely disappointed but the other features like blue tooth, ipod plug in in armrest, and voice audio controls it has. I have subsequently found a couple undocumented screens on the Garmin that show stats on the vehicle speeds etc. Neat, but now I know someone else drove my JGC up 102mph, I think had to be when it was in the dealership for service.

But I agree with the need for better IT systems and roll out plan of the NAV /Media units, because the salesman had a real struggle trying get it ordered and was frustrated with the deletes, and changes on the higher unit. Regardless of the Unit, I am happy with the vehicle.

Re: 730N (RER) vs 430N (RHB) vs 730N (RHR)

Ordered a Summit on 12-14-10 and got it in last week with the RHB 430N. I did get the $305 credit showing on the window sticker (saying the 430N takes place of 730N). Now, I like this radio but there are definitely some MAJOR gripes:

1. USB connection in the center console is buggy. I like to use an iPod and put it on random when I drive (usually at all times) so I don’t have to mess with the radio. Currently I have an iPod Video plugged in (iPod software up to date), works fine after it gets connected to the unit via Uconnect. When you shut the Jeep down and return later though the radio defaults to the FM input and it will take between 20 seconds & 3 minutes for the iPod to link back up to the head unit again. This is ridiculous because now I have to press the media button on the head unit, then I have to choose the device, then I have to wait for it to recognize again. And when the iPod starts playing again, I have to press the info button again to see the track name since it doesn't retain simple settings when you shut the power off. Will there be an update to fix little bugs like this?

2. Why did they remove the Cable for the iPod that comes with the RER’s?

3. The screen tends to have a vertical blur if you look at it while driving, anyone know the difference in screen resolutions from the 730N & 430N?

One last question, is there any difference in the speakers or amp on the 430N as opposed to the 730N package? This system doesn’t sound nearly as good as my 09 SRT8 Jeep. The sub is weak…. Did I get screwed on superior sound without the 730N?

You may want to parallel path plug into this thread (unless you already have, apologies if I missed it's late). Your #1 issue above 'should' be a software issue but see if anyone on this other thread knows. I'm taking delivery of my Summit hopefully in late March/early April w/730N radio and I'm sure that same issue would exist. The 730N is the same underlying platform (media wise) so this problem is likely consistent w/both 430 and 730.

430N and iPod resolution
