Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

Here is a responce I got back from Jeep customer service. "Thank you for contacting the Jeep Customer Assistance Center regarding
your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee.
We advise for you to contact Harman at 1-800-422-8027 for further
assistance regarding this matter."

Wow, what a way to back up a product.

Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

I was having this same issue. I went into the engineering menu on the radio and did a factory reset. I then went into the vehicle and set my preferences on key at a time, then set those into the position 1 and 2 accordingly. Also enabled the RKE to memory feature. Since then, approx 3 months, I have had no issues and haven't lost any setting or memory yet. Hope this helps.

Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

When you saved your preferences into 1 and 2 are you referring to the radio presets? I have never lost those so far. Most of us have lost the home address and address book entries. Have yours been holding since you did the reset?

1. Does anyone have a 730N RHR that does not delete the Home Address and all information in the Address Book?
2. Has anyone encountered this problem and had it fixed, and if so, what fix was applied?
3. Has anyone encountered this problem and got a new 730N RHR that resolved the problem?
Thanks, Larry
1. My current 730N has been working fine for about 2 months now. My original 730N (among a host of other problems) deleted address, favorite radio stations, and lost my home address all the time.
2. I had my problem fixed by getting a new radio installed at the dealership.
3. See above... Current radio seems to work fine with two fobs (mine and wife's), address saved, favorite artists and songs, etc...

Long story short, the address problem was only one of many problems my 730N was experiencing. After several trips to the dealer, they finally installed a new radio and the new one works fine. I don't know what the difference is; perhaps there is a newer software version in the newer radio, but I can't see the version number. The only thing I can see (version wise) is the database # for the navigation.

Please elaborate on what you mean "...went into the vehicle and set my preferences on key at a time..."

I have been troubleshooting this issue in my jeep and did similar to what you did. Enabled RKE to memory and only been using 1 key FOB. I also never used the memory setting for driver 1 and 2. Everything has been holding for about 2 months now. My next step is to start using driver 1 and 2 and see if that is the problem. If not, I'm going to remove "enable RKE to memory" and see if that is the problem.

What do you mean by engineering menu. I don't see any such thing.

I like others have lost my addresses three times. Must have the latest software as my vehicle was just built in November. Had it in for an oil change today. Dealer checked and no error codes. also no tsb's. Told him it seemed to be a common issue. he apparently hasn't had any other complaints. Don't want to change the unit yet as everything else works ok. Must be software related.

Hold down the hard keys "seek up" and "seek down" at the same time and press the hard key "menu."

Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

Thanks. If I press Factory reset, what exactly does this reset? Will I lose anything?

Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

Man I wish I would have known about the engineering menu before I put 2.120 on my unit. I definitely would have tried that first. So far I have lost everything(all favorites)except for my Home address and most every time I have to manually choose my iPod under devices for it to start playing.

Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

So, has anybody done the software update and are still having the home address vanish on them?

Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

I tried this and it worked for a week or so then my home address was gone and about a dozen addresses were gone also. I did the restore factory settings, seat memory etc but it still didn't hold them in memory for me. I also had my 730N unit replaced and it did not fix this pronlem.
