Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

It seems like the only benefit to the 2.120 update is the addition of the Sirius weather map. Hopefully another upadate will follow.

1. Does anyone have a 730N RHR that does not delete the Home Address and all information in the Address Book?
2. Has anyone encountered this problem and had it fixed, and if so, what fix was applied?
3. Has anyone encountered this problem and got a new 730N RHR that resolved the problem?
Thanks, Larry
Had the same problem on my 730 RHR which came with version 1.911. (2011 SRT Challenger). My address book disappeared weekly, sometimes lasting 2 weeks. Dealer has been unable to help, and Chrysler customer assistance requires me to go back to the dealer..
I updated to version 2.120 and everything's been fine for over a month now. I would try this upgrade and see if it helps you guys too.

Love your vehicle... especially the color. I picked up the exact same Overland in that color last evening. Love it!

Now, need to figure out how to get the CD to get the update.

Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

Thanks. It is a nice color. Good luck with yours.

Just for kicks, I tried downloading both the .zip and the iso file to my PC. The download stops at around 40MB and I eventually get a IE timeout error. Tried it several times and even tried downloading the .zip file directly to the FAT thumb drive. No luck. I guess I'll go back to plan A and let the dealer handle it when I eventually get the radio swapped out for the correct HD. I haven't lost memories in over a month now, and have no explanation for it.

You can use the front USB port to upgrade your 730N:

Softwareupdate with USB2 Stick its works!!!!!

I did it and everything went smoothly and no more lost addresses and radio presets.

How do you know this? What do you have to substantiate this statement?
Please provide supporting documentation so that those of us who are leery of doing the software update are assured that the update will correct the address deletion problem. Thank you.

Re: 730N RHR Deletes Addresses

Perhaps you can suggest to your friend that he contact Jeep's service management to advise that v2.120 is available and resolves a longstanding complaint from users?

From comments here it is obvious that this information hasn't yet been provided to Jeep dealerships, even though 730N units recently produced already incorporate it.

answer from HB:

I am not in charge on how Chrysler communicates to the dealers. They have improved their web site, www.chrysler.com and you can actually request a disc gets mailed to you now.

Thanks, Sox. I didn't find anything at that website. Do you have a more specific URL?

Well, the choice is to return to Jeep and demand a fix for this problem, maybe they are aware of the update, maybe they aren't, but if you have fears of somehow invalidating your warranty, this is your only option.

My personal experience is that applying the update is relatively painless, and offers a chance of resolving some problems. I've used the same procedure in my previous JGC, a 2008 with a RER without problem, but you could run a risk of "bricking" your nav, but you have recourse of returning to Jeep for a warranty replacement, because of course, your unit did have the defect originally described.
