730N RHR Ipod download question

I've heard that with the 730N RHR you can load music to the HDD via the USB port but I've only heard of people using a thumbdrive. Is it possible to load music directly from an IPOD? Thanks.

No, it is NOT possible to offload music from an iPod. It's not so much a limitation of the system but one of the music players- in order to prevent piracy, it's just not possible (short of using special software on a computer) to transfer the music off the iPod to another device.

You'll need to use a thumb drive.

Or... an external hard drive, using the handy power outlet in the rear console to power it (although the USB port does put out enough power for very small (2.5") portable hard drives).

My RER doesn't have that port, and the faceplate one won't read my 30GB 2.5" HD, so I'll take your word for it.
