Re: 730RHR Map Updates?? How To?

Anyone with better intel or more contact within Jeep / Chrysler; provide some clarification to the versions & age of versions would be appreciated!

Several Calls to Jeep, Navtec, Chry Cust & Service Mgr of Dealership.
Per everyone I've talked to concerning updating the maps: Purchase is required, no "free/reduced" updates. It's considered an optional "customer choice update".

Map Version: Delivered installed in WK2 (Apr Delivery) is the N1035 4.0.8
Newest Current Confirmed Version (Jeep & Navtec) is N1051 3.4.0.
Previous confirmed Jeep Version & Chrylser for 2010 models: N1051 3.3.3

Extensive discussions to determine "age / version" of N1035 4.0.8 with
Jeep Cust Serv and 2 Different channels at Navtec.
No One seems to be able to positively identify version.
One person at Navtec said it "appeared" to be a 2009 Number... but couldn't verify.

To purchase current version from NavTec: $200 plus shipping.
When you purchase, they create & apply a VIN Authorization Code.
If VIN does not match, software will not install.

There are Gracenotes and software updates for the 730N RER on mofv.com. I don't think anything has been releases for the 730N RHR model yet.

I ordered this disk and it is for RER only. RHR does not accept it. Now going through customer services at both Navteq and Chrysler.

I called Navteq as well and the customer service rep stated they only have the update for the RER, not the RHR. The Rep for Navteq seemed confused about the unit in my vehicle stating it should be the RER. She then went on to refer me to the parts department at the dealership to discuss any updates.

Just got off the phone with Chrysler support and she seemed in disbelief I had the RHR in my vehicle. Found it funny after getting my information she actually requested I go back down to my vehicle to confirm it isn't an 730N RER.

Chrysler support stated they would elevate my request to the next level and work on getting me an update for the navigation system.

Got a call today from Chrysler support asking for my father - Chrysler shows him as the registered owner. I asked where they got this information from, and they stated the dealership. Note - I paid cash for the car and it is registered in my name solely. So they want me to fax them a copy of the vehicle registration and copy of the title in order to correct the information in Chryslers system. As for the navigation update, they stated Chrysler will contact the dealership and ask them to provide an update for me. Almost sounds like a scam.

Opps, My Bad that I didn't post an update. I received & returned the next day. In a hurry for a business trip and didn't post a quick update.
Borant, you're correct... The DVD fails to update on version not compatible error on the 730 RHR.

Navteq accepted my return & credit when I called to return. During the Return & Credit, I was elevated to a new level and they questioned why the RER version was sent to me. They stated that the version for the 730 RHR was not in their Inventory and haven't received any info from Engineering or Marketing. Navteq Sales Rep estimated it would be 6-8 months before 730 RHR updates would be available.
