Adding 430N with Navigation

Hello,
I have just picked up my new 2013 Grand Cherokee and I couldn't be happier. I got a blue one with a sunroof, larado E, Security & Convenience and Tow package.

I couldn't afford the navigation option at the time of purchase but I plan on adding it soon. It is my understanding that I can swap out the current radio with a 430N unit. My current radio has Uconnect, bluetooth and Satellite radio.
I have read many threads on here about adding the 430N unit but I am even more confused! lol apparently that happens more and more as I get older! lol
Okay then, here's my question;
Can someone tell me what 430N unit would be a straight swap. A part number would be nice too.
Okay a few more questions. lol
What do you have to do to get it to work with a particular vehicle? Do I have to take the 430N or the whole Jeep to the dealer to have it programmed?
Thanks for any help,
Willie

Re: Adding 430N with Navigation

Yes, It a straight swap. I had the 740n installed in mine( base larado, Non "E") as part of my deal. It took my dealership about 1.5 hours to install the unit and update the Nav. The part number for the 430N is Part # 82212475. The weird thing is that my dealership's parts department could only order the 740n. The Dealership has to install the unit and set up the Nav, transfer your sat radio number from the original radio and boom you're done.

Re: Adding 430N with Navigation

Just purchased a 430N for my 11 GC. From what Ive gathered its all plug and play and the only reason I should be bringing my Jeep to the dealer is to have them update my sales code

Did you get the 430N installed with no problems and no help from the dealer?

Re: Adding 430N with Navigation

I'm looking at putting a 430N in my 2012 GC and would like to know if you can get away with doing it without any programming or help from the dealer.

Currently have 430 non-nav with uconnect and sirius.

My local dealer says it can't be done. I asked them how many they have tried and they said non.

I have used oemautopartsco.com in the past to swap out my CD player in my 07 truck to a RER navigation system.

They claim this should be plug and play and I tend to believe them!

Plug and play as long as you have sat radio now. The GPS antenna is part of the sat antenna. If you are using a 12+ radio it will be anti theft so get either the anti theft code with it or the VIN of the vehicle it is coming out of so you can obtain the code. All 11 radios are non anit theft, require no code, and swap into 12+ grand cherokees
