Adding Uconnect/Bluetooth

I just installed a 430N RHB head unit in my Jeep. I originally had a 130 RES without Uconnect/Bluetooth. I want to add that feature. I know justforjeeps sells a Uconnect add on kit, however that is not what Im looking for. I want to be able to use the factory style steering wheel buttons. What do I need to do this. Obviously the steering wheels bottons, the Uconnect module, and the mic. I assume there is a cable that runs from the head unit to the module. What about wiring for the steering wheels buttons? Wiring the mic? In vehichles equipped with this from the factory I believe the mic is in the rear view mirror correct. Anyw help would be great

Re: Adding Uconnect/Bluetooth

You'll need the Mopar kit 82212159 (which includes the mic, module, interconnecting harness and instructions on CD) and the optional USB / iPod cable PN 82212160. You'll also need the Steering wheel switches which I have seen in another forum as a PnP install. After installing the kit, you'll need to have the vehicle flashed for code "RSP". You should be able to get the flashing done for about $50 if you call around. The factory mic is located in the driver side "A" pillar trim near the visor.

One member on JF installed the kit and didn't need to have it flashed.

Re: Adding Uconnect/Bluetooth

Do you have a link to that members install? I'd like to look at it. Unless the vehicle is told that there is a Uconnect module installed in the vehicle, The CAN BUS network shouldn't turn it on because the network doesn't know it's there. Thanks
