Aftermarket Nav USB placement

I have a pretty basic Laredo that did not come with a navigation unit but will be putting one in aftermarket shortly. The guy installing the unit asked where I would like the USB cable to come out off (i.e. glove box, center console, etc.). For those that have had the car for a while, where would you place the USB outlet if you had the choice?

Re: Aftermarket Nav USB placement

I've had both glove box and console hook ups and like the console better as it is much more handy.

Glove box is better for permanent connections, and the device will be pt of your way

Re: Aftermarket Nav USB placement

BA1120,
I just finished an aftermarket Nav install in mine this week (highly recommend a professional if you can afford it) and I'm looking for a longer USB cable to move mine. I originally routed it to the pocket below the A/C controls. Didn't like that because the cable was either too short, or there was too much excess cable wadded up looking like a mess. The glove box was too far away from me to be practical. My intent now is to route it to the upper pocket of the center console. I figure I wouldn't really use that upper small pocket for anything anyway, so why not just leave it for an Ipod?

BTW, do you know what dash adapter is going to be used for your install? I used a Metra kit with a Clarion NX602 and I'm not too happy with the way it looks...

Just my 2 cents... Hope you enjoy your upgrade!
