album art - HDD files - 430n?

A few days ago messing around with music files on the hard drive - and it displayed album art.

Now, I don't see any. Does anyone know what type of file is needed to display album art on imported files?

I have no problem seeing album art for imported CD's, fwiw.

Re: album art - HDD files - 430n?

The 430n displays album art only for tracks from CDs, either played directly from a CD or ripped from CD to HDD by the 430n. It needs to see the actual CD in order to find its record in the Gracenotes database, the source of the art.

Extensive experimentation by a number of contributors here have demonstrated that it will not display album art encoded as MP3 metadata. Which is kind of sad ... my daughter's cheap MP3 player can do that.

Re: album art - HDD files - 430n?

interesting. thanks. i could have sworn i saw album art on a aac track, but i could have been thinking of a ripped CD.

Anyone had luck downloading an album from itunes, burning, then ripping to 430n? Will album art display?

Sorry... I must be blind. Didnt notice the radio he was discussion was the 430 even though it was in the subject line... I have the RHR so probably a different story. For what its worth, it's 4th generation nano.
