Album art will not display unless you play or download to the HDD from the original CD. This has been explained several times in recent forum posts. Gracenote and Chrysler had a "falling out", and now we are basically SOL.
Gracenote is owned by Sony Corporation (can you say Ford Sync, GM MyLink, Toyota Entune).
There used to be cross-links between the Chrysler MyGig and Sony Gracenote webpages. Those appear to no longer exist:
The latest Gracenote Chrysler update is April 2011. Artwork from music released since that date will not display. Many older albums will also not display because of gaps in the Gracenote database. Your version listed is the latest Gracenote release.
The are currently no new Gracenote releases offered or planned for Chrysler products.
When and if available, I was told by my dealer that Gracenote updates will cost $19.95 software and 1 hour of shop time or approximately $125 per update. Also when available, GPS updates will be $149.95 and 1 hour of shop time or approximately $250 per update.
Guess Chrysler feels if we can afford to spend $40K on a SUV, these costs are reasonable. Personnally, I feel we are getting the short end of the stick on this. If you find out better, more updated information on this issue - please reply as many of us wish to update and be able to use the album art feature I thought was purchased with my GC expensive media player option package.
