album art sd card

Theres probably a few posts on this but I'm trying to figure out why album art won't display while using an sd card. I copied my music directly from iTunes onto the card in mp3 format as well as some purchased music. all play fine but no album artwork. anyone know how to get it displayed? thanks

Re: album art sd card

Isn't the album art a separate .jpg file from the .mp3? Did you copy those over as well?

No but why would I have to do that? If I copy the songs directly to a usb, it shows the album artwork and I don't have to copy the image over separately

Oh I bet I'm thinking of .flac files, not .mp3's. Never mind.

Re: album art sd card

When I've had problems its been because the size of the cover art was too large... Anything 500x500 and under seems to work fine. Also make sure each of the MP3's has the art embedded as frequently iTunes just flags the album with one song's art and does not embed it in every MP3.

Edit: Also as others have mentioned it is a good idea to delete any hidden files from the SD and lock it to read only before inserting into UConnect.

Perhaps your MP3 files do not have embedded album artwork?

Mp3tag - the universal Tag Editor (ID3v2, MP4, OGG, FLAC, ...)
Nice Windows program that I use on all my MP3s.

I try to set all my artwork to 600x600 pixels (max) and so far have not had any problems with my album artwork showing up in Android or on the wife's new Lincoln MKX with Sync3.

Unfortunately my 2012 with the 430N radio doesn't display artwork....

Re: album art sd card

Got some software to embed the artwork to the songs. Just gotta resize everything to under 500x500 and I'm all set
