Ah, sounds like you have the upgraded sound system and not the stock like i do. I could be wrong, but that system could be tweaked differently then mine giving you different (better?) results. I would think it would be better then what i am experiencing so i think you'll be happy! Good luck

Greetings,

You are now the 2nd person here who has recognized the engine.

The Union Pacific Big Boy # 4012. It is a 4-8-8-4 configuration. Scranton is great place for train buffs.

Best for now.

How'd you like it? I love just outside Scranton and went there a lot as a kid. Loved trains.

Greetings,

I was their last October and spent the weekend. 1st day in the afternoon I was at the site. Then on Sunday, I took the fall foliage train trip from Scranton down to the Gap and back. Great steakhouse in town.

I am planning to go back hopefully to catch other trips and see more of Scranton. Also Scranton is near some excellent ski areas.

Best for now.

Greetings,

Depending on how you install your Focal's, later on when you do decide if an amp is warranted, you get can on with an amp that has a built in DSP for to work the eq and play with xover settings.

As always, let the speakers break-in and then take a short trip somewhere and get yourself used to the sound. Then if you feel you need upgrades again, do it as your budget allows.

Best for now.

Hi Subbie yes I love going to PA. I go there to relax and get away from the rat race of NY. Everything and everyone are a lot more laid back. I spent 10 days last August at Keen lake campground. Had a great time.

My personal preference for tweeters has always been silk dome and i know Polk makes a quality product, as i have used them in the past... and eventually ill work my way back to the sub and upgrade that to a Pioneer 8" shallow mount (dual 2ohm) sub and also re-enforce the stock enclosure.

Center Channel:
db351 - Polk Audio

Front Components:
db6501 - Polk Audio

Ebay 1/4" MDF adapters - Front Doors
MDF Speaker Spacer Rings 1 4" Thick 6x9" to 6 5" Large Adapters One Pair | eBay

Rear Coaxial:
db651 - Polk Audio

Sub:

Did you have to do any mods to install the polk front components? What did you do with the crossover. Doesn't the Alpine system have a built in crossover for the front door speaker and tweeter?

Re: Alpine 9 speaker system Speaker Only Upgrade results

Which finals did you get for the fronts exactly since those are the only ones you replaced and why did you choose that particular focal speaker?
