Alpine iLX-007

In case anyone with a 2011-2013 JGC was considering the Alpine iLX-007 just thought I'd show you what it looks like in my Jeep. It's a pretty awesome unit IMO. Like it the most because it looks factory.

Such a shame really. As soon as I get everything the way I like it I'm about to trade in the Jeep for a 2015 Dodge Charger fairly soon.

Upgraded all the speakers and got a custom sub box to replace the factory one so it all still looks factory from the outside which is what I was going for. Trio of Focal amps hidden under the air tank. Now comes the hard part of parting everything out. :/

There's a pair of Illusion Carbon C10's hidden back there.

I need to control my impulse buying. And the kicker... the reason I did the audio system upgrade was to keep myself from buying a new car. lol

Re: Alpine iLX-007

if you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for your custom enclosure for the subwoofer?

Re: Alpine iLX-007

Greetings,

Have fun with it.

So, how does it sound? How's CarPlay?

Inquiring Minds What to know?

Best for now.

$600. I'll post a picture if you like when I start pulling everything out to put the OEM parts back in.

It's sounded great. CarPlay has been great. No problems what so ever for the time that I've used it but I'm going to be returning it back to stock for the trade in.

Suggestions on cheap tweeters that wouldn't look out of place or some kind of cap designed to plug a tweeter hole? I mimicked this. Added some tweeters to the rear doors like on this 2014/2015 JGC. Now I have to plug the holes with something.

Re: Alpine iLX-007

Sorry to bring up an old thread, were you able to keep your backup camera working with the ilx-007 in your 2011-2013? Also, were you able to keep all the steering wheel controls along with the voice activation button?

thanks in advance!

Re: Alpine iLX-007

Yes, to the backup camera. They used some module so they could have mapped the steering wheel controls any way I wanted. Not sure about the voice activation button since I never used the voice stuff.

One annoying thing I didn't like (which could have just been due to the module they used) was that there was a slight delay from the steering wheel controls to the iLX-007. So if I changed a track or adjusted the volume the action would be delayed for like half a second.
