Seriously, just get rid of the stock flagpole. It's fugly, way too big, and totally unneccesary. A $6 Napa replacement stubby would be an upgrade.

No need to get a taller garage door, drop your rig, or be extra cautious when loading and unloading rooftop cargo.

Re: Antenna too tall ..??!?

I actually put it into sport prior to entry/exit but and it still catches.. havent though about doing the parking thing.. might try it but would rather get a stub a few inches shorter. Overall it is a bit long anyway. My prior vehicle has no exposed antenna and reception was crystal clear. I cant see a stubby being worse.

My wk2 has QL and just arrived at the dealer a week or two before I got it so it cant be too much of an older 2011 build.. esp since overlands are hard to stock and he had only 2 (a v6 & a hemi)..

Love the height of the vehicle though - I end up giving the wife n kids a boost getting in.. first time wife almost fell out.. lol

Re: Antenna too tall ..??!?

I picked up my JGC today and I can confirm that the old style (taller) and the new style (stubby) are interchangeable simply by screwing on/off. I had the dealer switch mine with one from another Cherokee in inventory to get the shorter one.

It is about 3 inches shorter and this is all I needed to get into the garage in Normal Ride Height without it touching.

Could you post a picture of the new style (stubby) antenna?

Renegade,

Just go to your local dealer and buy one from the parts dept.

Re: Antenna too tall ..??!?

Here's a photo of the tall one it came with. Pretty much every photo here of 2011's in member rides has the shorter one. Just from eyeballing at the dealer, there is a 2-3 inch difference, which happened to mean touching or not touching in my garage.

Re: Antenna too tall ..??!?

Hopefully this gentlemen doesnt mine that I borrowed his photo from member rides. Here you can see the shorter style antenna. It doesnt have the second stage, the skinny antenna part sticking up like the first one. Like I said it isnt a huge difference, a couple or 3 inches, but thats a lot when it comes to garages.

Re: Antenna too tall ..??!?

Thanks. Looks like I got the shorter one since this one in the picture starts off fat then goes thin. Mine is fat all the way so it's different. Still though, I think mine is too long anyway. I'll be getting a stubby.

Re: Antenna too tall ..??!?

I called a parts dept and they said theres a 10 inch and an 8 inch available. The 8 is around $25.

Perhaps this is the 'about 3 inches' Nbstatic is talking about.

Can someone confirm if the shorter one is 8 inches. I'm guessing the 8 might clear the garage but I guess I'd have to watch someone drive it in and measure it.
