You are right, it is pretty tight. Any tricks other than taking my time? Did you use a trim tool? Thanks.

Can you elaborate on "wired up the additional inputs as well"? Does lockpick give you additional functionality for this or you just used opportunity that 730N was taken out?

Re: Anybody installed lock pick on 2011?....

I used a thin somewhat flexible plastic putty knife (the kind for patching drywall the ones you usually use and toss out) about 2 inches wide. I was able to slide it between the trim and the dash on the top and work it out slowly from there without damaging the dash at all.

One thing I noticed that I cannot explain:

I did not wire up the extra power source for the backup camera. But on certain screens if I press the power button twice quickly I do have a fully functioning always on camera while driving. Its a nice bonus that I cannot explain. According the the lockpick manufacturer instructions it should not work like that.

You can set the lockpick to hide the play dvd button so your teenager will not see it and watch when they are driving the jeep. To hide or display you press the power button twice as well. For me for some reason as long as I press the power button twice very quickly I get the camera and if I press it twice a little slower it functions to hide and display options such as the dvd buttons. I did set the dip switches on the lockpick so it is setup for the rear camera to be controlled by the head unit but I have no idea how it is actually functioning unless their instructions are outdated and there is some sort of power source already running to the backup camera on the wk2.

lockpick has connections for the RCA (or component depending what you want to call them) inputs. So many portable dvd players even probably a Playstation or xbox could be hooked up to it just get the cables from them and you are good to go.

Or about 20 bucks more will get you the current version with a warranty and the ability to update the module via USB which some older versions do not have. Might want to go direct from manufacturer.

Lockpick sounds awesome! I'm going to order one today-
I see you used a platic putty knife-
so just start at the top and work my way down? are there any screws or anything like that? you didn't get any pictures while doing it by any chance?

thanks!

No sorry no pics, I didnt have my iphone at the time. As far as the trim around the mygig unit goes there are no screws just snap in retainer clips. For me the top was the most difficult to remove once that was off the rest was a lot easier. Just go very slow and work it out bit by bit. There are 4 screws under that trim that actually hold in the mygig unit.
