Re: Anybody installed lock pick on 2011?....

My guess would be yes since the units are very similar. But you will have to check with Coastal Tech to be sure. But as long as connections are the same, which I imagine they will be to save costs, it should. Looks like we test a test dummy . . . . .

Thanks for the info Whatevrworks!
I just ordered it with the additional cable for video input.
took the cheapest shipping method so hopefully I get it in a week or so - I'll try to get some pictures when I install it and share.

After reading this thread I just ordered the Lock Pick for mine. I have the 430N RHB system. I am mainly after movie video and NAV control while not in park. The rear camera would be fun so I will see what is involved in getting a wire from it up to the unit.

Thanks for the good info.

I see on the website it says front camera activation. Would this mean it would work with JGCs with tech package somehow? Although I think the front camera is actually a sensor.

The front is a radar type system as I understand it. You would need to add an additional camera up front if you wanted to use that feature.

Great discussion guys! I am thinking about it too...you say the lock pick may come with a warranty, but i suspect doing this voids any warranty on the NAV system for Jeep?

No. It's plug and play. IF something bad were to happen that blew up the nav, simply pull out the lockpick. "mr. Stealer I have no idea what happened. I was just driving and my nav unit vaporized .... Lockpick? No never heard of it..."

But nothing will happen. It's an excellent investment.

Re: Anybody installed lock pick on 2011?....

Let us know if the lockpick works with the 430N. I just tried the V2 Lockpick that I used for my RER/730N in my JK and it didn't work with my 430N. I tried several different dip switch configs but couldn't get the Nav in motion input to work...some of the options greyed out as soon as I picked up speed. Hopefully the V3 will do the trick though.

I will let you know. A month ago I emailed Coastal Electronics and asked them if it work on the 430N and they assured me it would. We will see.

Re: Anybody installed lock pick on 2011?....

Hello all. I am new to this forum, but I wanted to share my experiences with everyone regarding the video in motion modules. I have a 2010 GC SRT8 with an RER radio. I have personally installed both the Coastal Tech Lockpick (v2 & v3) and the Nav-Tv All Gig modules. I have experienced problems (along with others) with each of these modules. The Lockpicks had issues which locked up the radio and All Gig module had caused the instrument cluster lights to flash intermittently. After doing all of the research on several forums, I have seen these issues from alot of members as well. Nav-Tv has just released a new version of the All Gig module called an Allgig XG FT. I currently have this installed and the instrument cluster problem has been corrected. The new hardware platform and software seems to be stable. I have tested the software for the RBZ radio and the REN radio as well. Everything seems to be working great. I will post an update to this thread if anything changes, but so far so good. This information is is from my personal experience. I am not trying to knock anyones product. I am just trying to provide others with the information that is factual.

Haven't seen any issues posted on these forums. Everyone who has installed v3 on a wk2 has had zero problems. Sounds like a product plug to me..... How many different units do you have installed in one jeep? Rbz and ren? If you are getting frozen units with rer at least it's because dip switches are set wrong just like the instructions state. To fix that you have to remove power from the nav unit and lockpick to reset the memory then fix switches to correct settings and reinstall.

Re: Anybody installed lock pick on 2011?....

I am not plugging anyones products. I simply stated the FACTS. I appreciate your suggestions regarding the dip switches, but they were set correctly. If you can read my post, I simply stated that I tested the software and that it appears to be stable on the new module. I am trying to provide information to other members so they don't waste money on products that don't function 100% correctly, like I did. I don't think people want to continually have to pull the bezel off to disconnect the lockpick to reset it. ALSO, I don't think that people should have to have their cluster lights flashing as well. Once again, I was simply informing people of MY experience.
