Anyone add a Front Camera?

Got the Lockpick on its way and a camera but I can't figure out where to mount it or how to get through the firewall to the engine compartment. Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Anyone add a Front Camera?

There are some rubber gaskets you can use on the drivers side of the WK, not too sure on the WK2. Going to use it for tight parking spaces or something? Miss my rear camera I had on my last car for backing into spots and parallel parking...

Re: Anyone add a Front Camera?

you can also just go down the side in close next to the door and then behind the dash/glove if you dont want to go straight through the fire wall

CFUSION,

What camera did you get? I've been thinking about putting a front camera is as well. Where will you mount it? I've been

Re: Anyone add a Front Camera?

Well I ordered the Kenwood C200 because I had it on my last car and it was super clear. The only problem with that is I don't know if it will auto correct for horizontal flip meaning that whats really on the left is on the right because that is needed for a backup camera but not a front. So we shall see.

I was going to mount it on the middle part of the grill right under the top part but I have the crappy limited grill with the fins and it won't fit. I need to either chop off the middle fin, mount it out farther where it will be obvious, or order the Summit grille and install that because the mesh would be much better to install this camera as they are pretty freaking big. Don't know why they can't make them smaller.

I think I found 2 ways into the cabin through grommets. There is a 3rd way to piggy back off the main wires by cutting into the main harness but I will see how the grommets entry way goes. For now just waiting on the parts to come in.

Re: Anyone add a Front Camera?

Not camera but I have a blackbox mounted inside front and rear windshield. It records 24/7 using 32GB USB. Mine doesn't have camera function but there are other HD level blackboxes with that feature.

Re: Anyone add a Front Camera?

Ended up cutting a slit in the main harness grommet under the glove box. Pretty easy. Pulls out under the battery harness under the hood.

Re: Anyone add a Front Camera?

Looking at some crawling threads today, this sure would be nice maybe under a skid plate to help visibility when driving up a sharp incline. Anyone done this yet for trail riding?
