Re: apple losless m4a Uconnect support

You're out of luck.

I'm not sure why you're that worried about lossless formats in a moving vehicle anyway. High bit rate for best frequency reproduction is useful, but lossless verses lossy does nothing with driving noise and less than optimal speaker placement as long as the lossy bit rate is high enough.

Vehicles are far from a proper listening environment.

I challenge anyone to hear the difference between lossless codecs and a 256Mb/s or higher MP3 under those conditions.

Re: apple losless m4a Uconnect support

My 2015 Limited can play them from an iPod or iPhone, I'm not sure why a Summit wouldn't. Where are you attempting to play the media from that's failing?

I can't answer for the OP as to why lossless format in a moving vehicle but having a rather extensive iTunes library, my WK2 isn't the only place I listen to music. Can I hear a difference? I'd say marginally but if given a choice I'll take lossless as long as I've got disc space for it.

and from SD card is m4a officially supported or no? Because all m4a files are visible but not play. Other unsupported files for example flac are invisible at radio

Re: apple losless m4a Uconnect support

You might want to contact UConnect. From the specs on the UConnect page, it seems it does support those file formats though it does not specify source limitations.
