So as yall may know, iOS 8.4 came out today and introduced the new Apple Music service. Unfortunately it seems that the new iOS causes uconnect to flip out when USB is connected to the phone. All I can get is an error message and silence. However, it does seem that the Bluetooth sound quality is greatly improved, but for me at least it still isn't up to par with an aux cable or the USB streaming.
So here's the question - is anyone else having this problem? If so, have you figured out a workaround?
I have had no more issues than I was having prior to upgrading to 8.4. Occasionally the system would refuse to recognize the iPhone at all requiring a reboot of the phone, but I have not even seen that since the update.

Interesting to know. I just upgraded my work iphone 5S and ipod 5th gen to the new 8.4. Although i don't personally use bluetooth on my ipod i get how this may be an issue. I rarely use my android to play music via bluetooth. I'll be switching to the new iphone 6+ and ditching my android in the next few days but i'll still be using it with the usb.
So let me ask, the bluetooth function for music was working prior to the update to 8.4? Or does 8.3 still have issues with uconnect?
For me at least, my Bluetooth still works after the update. I still have poor sound quality, with crackles and distortion. It's only my USB that won't work right now.
Ok so I got my new phone. Still haven't done update and glad I haven't. After re-reading what the OP says it makes sense now as I too have noticed my iPod acts weird since most of the time it's plugged into the USB and sometimes I get silence and no play. Can't remember when it started before or after I updated. I have to manually select my playlist and select a song in order to start playing. I have noticed that it only ocurrs after I connect to the usb so if it stays connected all night or during the work day I don't have to do what I stated above.
So far I haven't updated my new iPhone and I won't, not till this gets sorted out. I did use the iPhone for Bluetooth and the sound quality is great for music. Even synced my contacts. One thing I noticed while using the Bluetooth while on a call sounds like the other end of the call is using the speaker when they are not. Could it be the service provider? Maybe...
Its super interesting that i was on 8.3 and my uconnect was paired to my Iphone 6 but when i went to answer a call it would say its connected but would only allow me to talk on speaker as it was defaulting to iphone and i couldnt change it. I deleted all phones on uconnect and then upgraded to 8.4 and now i am back to working properly.
