I can't be sure, and it's totally subjective, but it seems, after the update, that in addition to Siri Eyes, my iPhone is connecting a bit quicker when I listen to an audiobook or iPod music via USB connection. The most important thing is that it does not appear less stable than before.

I meant like that drag and drop feature in the video. I doubt my 2014 will ever do that.

Yeah. I agree with you. I don't think we are going to see those new features unless you want to go for the bucks to replace the radio with a 2016 version. I think that is around $1,300. I am not going to to that. I'll wait until uConnect includes Car Play. Then I might consider it.

Has anyone with Customtronix done the update?

Re: Apple Siri Eyes Free now available for 2013+

Just an update on my personal experience with this new system version:

As I mentioned long before on this thread, I noticed a couple glitches, hiccups, etc from installing the update. Most of them appeared when activating Siri. For example:
Siri would freeze, the Uconnect screen would show the Siri pop-up even if Siri was not enabled, music would not play from any source not even regular radio, volume knob would not turn up/down volume.

Fearing something may have gone wrong with the installation, I re-installed the update however that didn't change much things. At a point I was stuck with a Uconnect display that wouldn't respond not even after turning off/on the Jeep !
I called UConnect asking if they could tell me how to restart UConnect to see if that could kickstart it and they sent me down the toilet telling me to schedule an appointment at a dealership because this issue was beyond their hands to fix.

Anyhow, I searched online for a way to restart (not reset) UConnect and that seemed to take care of the issues. It's been 3 weeks now since I did that and I haven't had any issues with this new version. So for those who don't know how to restart Uconnect I have attached an image showing how.
This restart only re-initializes your system, it does NOT restore factory settings or de-configure anything.

This applies to the Uconnect 8.4AN :

On a separate matter. Those of you with iOS devices, have you noticed that with this update Uconnect does not announce when you receive an SMS (text message) much less read them to you?

I'm wondering if this update got rid of that and I wonder why?

I agree with your assessment. When I had installed the update iPod was noticeably more responsive when connected via USB. I enjoyed the update for 3 weeks and then out of the blue, UConnect began to freeze when I had connected the iPod via USB. I've reset iPod, UConnect numerous times, turned off Siri on the iPod, disabled Bluetooth, WiFi but nothing would solve it. I've got a case open with UConnect and the resolution was to roll back to the previous version. Another release of UConnect is slated for August 2016 according to the Tech I was working with. This release will have some bug fixes and also include updated POI's along with some issues folks reported with the maps themselves. Along the lines of people reporting the maps have them located on an incorrect street and or in a field when they're actually on a road. Hopefully the freeze issue I and others have reported get addressed as well.

Hopefully for those of you who have it installed it continues to work as designed. This also brings me to another point which is that it is beneficial to do these updates on your own and SAVE the previous releases so that you can roll back if there are issues.

Re: Apple Siri Eyes Free now available for 2013+

I successfully updated uConnect and Siri was perfect until it wasn't. Now, after speaking a message, an waiting for confirmation to send, the mic is still waiting for more and I don't get asked to send for about 60 seconds. All other Siri operations seem ok. This may have started after updating to IOS 9.3.2. Wow! It just doesn't stop.

After updating, be sure to go into your iPhone Settings-Bluetooth- uConnect info- and enable Notifications. It will then announce new Test Messages.

You're right. This feature was disabled on my phone. I'll test it and uptade on here whether that solved it.

Thanks a lot!
