Started my 2nd build, first was done in my 2011 and now this time in my 2014.
I thought I'd share the entire build and progress from the beginning.

The goal from this setup compared to my previous (link) system would be a little bit more output from the sub and also run a fully active set up.

Components:
(Processor) Audison Bit Ten
(2) JL Audio HD750/1
(1)JL Audio HD600/4
(2) Image Dynamics IDMAX12 D2 V3 in a sealed @ 1.3ft3
(fronts) DLS Nordica 6.2 Active
(rears) none for now

I will run the 600/4 active and send 150 watts to each mid bass and each tweeter.

As of now I only built the box.

Subscribed. I'm looking to do something similar in the SRT so I'll be looking forward to seeing your build as it goes. What are your thoughts regarding Class D amps vs Class AB? I've always used AB in the past but curious about the D's now that they are so mainstream.

That box looks pretty tough. Is that two layers of 1" on the front? Looks wicked.

Hey Guys,

I am about to pull apart the interior panels this weekend. Does anybody know if the Laredo E has the factory amp located on the rear quarter panel or is the RA3 powering the stock speakers?
Vant4ge....did you ever figure out the answer to this? I was also wondering if I would need to run behind the dash or if I can use the inputs to a factory amp of some sort?

Update...

Amps are wired. Mids, Tweeters, and Sub installed. With no tuning it actually sounded decent. I need to level all the gains and set the time alignment next.

I am going to run an RTA with a calibrated microphone to flatten out the curve using pink noise.

Awesome set up and great work. You seem to be putting my thoughts into reality down to the sub box in the rear. :) The bass is going to be intense.

Quick couple of questions though; with 6 high level inputs on the Bit 10 what did you do with the center channel and rear surrounds and what were your plans for hooking up any rears in the future? I was looking at the RF3Sixty.3 or JBL MS8 strictly because of the 8 inputs but seem to see a lot of Bit 10 installations in GC's even on the Soundman 'Amplified' YouTube series.

The Laredo E has no center channel or rear surrounds, so I decided I would go with a 5 channel set up with the Bit Ten. I was a bit skeptical about the rear fill though, I always had it. The increase of power to my mid bass up front certainly makes up for not having rear fill. I drive 2 hours a day by myself so to me it was more important to set up the sound stage up front over having rear fill.

I did watch the soundman episode with the SRT8 jeep. It seems they were powering the rear fill off the oem amp but don't really show it.

No worries. Should have thought of that. I think the centre channel and rear surrounds aren't that important but I want my system to be 'complete' (when I get it). I drive an hour each way to work as well so crystal clear sound with an amazing sound stage is extremely important to me.

It would be great if Jeep really put some thought into their systems so we wouldn't have to do so much to upgrade them. Until that happens perhaps Jeep offered a bare bones system with only the 8.4 head unit on all of their vehicles. Keep it basic with all speakers supplied by just the amp or just the head unit.

Keep up the great work. You have an good eye for detail. You interested coming down under to help me with my build in November/December? It'll be summertime here in Australia. :D
