Audio Build Part 2

Started my 2nd build, first was done in my 2011 and now this time in my 2014.
I thought I'd share the entire build and progress from the beginning.

The goal from this setup compared to my previous (link) system would be a little bit more output from the sub and also run a fully active set up.

Components:
(Processor) Audison Bit Ten
(2) JL Audio HD750/1
(1)JL Audio HD600/4
(2) Image Dynamics IDMAX12 D2 V3 in a sealed @ 1.3ft3
(fronts) DLS Nordica 6.2 Active
(rears) none for now

I will run the 600/4 active and send 150 watts to each mid bass and each tweeter.

As of now I only built the box.

Very nice set up. Two IDMAXs will sound amazing.

Subscribed. I'm looking to do something similar in the SRT so I'll be looking forward to seeing your build as it goes. What are your thoughts regarding Class D amps vs Class AB? I've always used AB in the past but curious about the D's now that they are so mainstream.

That box looks pretty tough. Is that two layers of 1" on the front? Looks wicked.

I'm using a JL HD900/5 class D amp to run my entire system. I love it. It's small, powerful, and it sounds great. In my other car I use two powerful class AB amps, and I have no regrets about going with class D for the Jeep.

These JL amps are extremely efficient and have decent signal to noise ratio. I have been pretty happy with them over the last 3 years.

The box has a double 3/4 baffle.

Re: Audio Build Part 2

Hey Guys,

I am about to pull apart the interior panels this weekend. Does anybody know if the Laredo E has the factory amp located on the rear quarter panel or is the RA3 powering the stock speakers?

Re: Audio Build Part 2

Update...

Today I was able to get most of the wire runs done.
I installed the Bit ten and de-equalized the factory head unit.

I used a SMD DD-1 to find the max undistorted volume of the head unit. It was around 25-26.

Some new pics

I havn't seen the bit ten before... i'm dying to do my 2014 with a 8.4an.. but summing and all that has me a bit leary is the bit ten easier to setup than a 3sixty? which looks hard as hell...

I never worked with a 3sixty. From al the research I've done the Bit Ten was an easy choice for me.

Re: Audio Build Part 2

Update...

Amps are wired. Mids, Tweeters, and Sub installed. With no tuning it actually sounded decent. I need to level all the gains and set the time alignment next.

I am going to run an RTA with a calibrated microphone to flatten out the curve using pink noise.
