Just wondering what others with the Harmon Kardon system are using for their equalizer settings?

I had the settings to my liking, then did my 1st software update and realized the equalizer had defaulted back to zeros afterward. Unfortunately, I did not make a note of what they were beforehand....won't make that mistake again!

Depends on the genre. I'm a rocker so 6,3, 6 is just right.

Re: Best Harmon Kardon Equalizer Settings

Equalizer settings are subject to personal taste. You just adjust until YOU like the sound. Don't go by what others might say, you may not like the sound. So just play around until you are satisfied, shouldn't take that long to do. GL

Re: Best Harmon Kardon Equalizer Settings

I have tinnitus pretty bad so I'm not sure my settings apply, but I have treble all the way up, mid up +2 and bass at flat 0.

Sounds great for anything other than Sirius, which sounds like shit no matter what you do of course (way too much compression).

Thanks - I'll try this on the drive home and see how it sounds to me.

I listen to a variety of stuff ranging from country to rock to 80s/90s.

As per this other equalizer settings thread - Best equalizer settings?
It is 100% dependant on your ears and your ears alone. Listen to what you normally listen to and adjust until you’re happy

Greetings,

100 + percent correct.

This simply technique I found over the years is to drop all the eq settings to the bottom when you have the 3 settings as in the case of OP.
  1. Start with mid's and bring it to the level you like and remember that settings. Next drop the mid setting and bring up the hi's to the you like.
  2. Once you like the hi's bring up the mid's to your noted position.
  3. Here, you can now fine tune the mid's and hi's to your liking.
  4. Now, bring up the bass to the level you like.
  5. Listen for a while and make any fine adjustments needed and note the settings for your records.

Of course, it is best to use music you like and with best source.

Best for now.

you have bass at +5?

i've now had my jgc summit for nearly 3 months and i'm annoyed at the subwoofer output which seems pretty unaffected by equalizer settings. i can have the bass set at the BOTTOM and still get BOOMING bass from even 'mainstream' music. what's the deal here?
