I'm wondering if maybe my playlist files (which aren't showing properly despite editing out the root as everyone has suggested) is causing it to endlessly try to catalogue.

Best sd card for my new 2015 Summit?

Make sure there are no special characters in the file names.

That's a great point, that I haven't thought of. I know of one album right off the bat (Tool's Aenema) that has a funky character in the file name. Though, it does appear properly...

More specifically, avoid special characters at the beginning of the name, mainly ~ ! and $, which are queues to the Windows system about file status and whether the file can be overwritten.

I just wanted to circle back on this, in case anyone else has this problem, that I did have one album title with an unusual character and, once that was deleted (along with a couple of unnecessary iTunes files), the VR worked great. Thanks for the suggestion!
