Blinking CAL next to EVIC compas

I picked up my wk2 Laredo X a few nights ago. I've noticed that the CAL light next to the EVIC compas is still blinking 100 miles later. How long does it typically take for the compas to calibrate itself and the light to stop blinking?

Me too. Picked my overland up on Friday. Blinking CAL is starting to annoy.

Re: Blinking CAL next to EVIC compas

I'm thinking there's a calibrate process in the manual.. I would look it up, but I dont have it handy... Something about driving it in a circle or something.

Yeah. The calibrate process involves driving in a circle away from large metallic objects. I live in NYC so that's not gonna happen. It does say in the manual that it should calibrate on its own after some time, but not sure how much time. A blinking light on the IC is annoying.

Re: Blinking CAL next to EVIC compas

The compass will calibrate itself but if you want to get rid of the light, find an open place where you can make a full circle. Go into the EVIC settings and scroll down to the compass calibration. Press enter, then make one or more full circles. The light should go off.

Re: Blinking CAL next to EVIC compas

I just hit 450 miles, and the light is still blinking...Looks like I'll have to find a parking lot somewhere to do circles in. I just assumed that it was going to blink until the light burned out.

Re: Blinking CAL next to EVIC compas

I went into the setup menu, and recalibrated the compass. Did one quick circle in a parking lot and the light is gone. That was easy.

Re: Blinking CAL next to EVIC compas

This is one of those things that was bugging me too but not enough to make me pull out the manual. Thanks for the info
