Bluetooth Phone Compatability with RHR 730N

Hi all. I'll be getting my Overland in about 10 days. Right now, I guess it's in some staging area (parking lot) waiting to hitch a ride on a transport vehicle to Pittsburgh. Anyway...

I've been using the same Motorola Razr (an original that still works fine) phone for about 7 years now. The big problem is that it has the original Bluetooth system in it, and will not work with the RHR that I'm about to get. So since I have some time, I thought I'd ask you folks what type of phone you're using successfully with the RHR system. Cause I'm going to need a new phone.

Thanks.

Re: Bluetooth Phone Compatability with RHR 730N

I have a Razr (almost 5 years old) and it works great with the RHR (730N).

Hmmm.
Mine is a Razr V3 and it has Bluetooth Class 1. If you could put your hands on your manual, would you check, please, to see what yours says?

Thanks.

This will be cool if I don't need to get a newer phone.

Bluetooth should be backwards compatible. Looks like the razr v3 is listed here.....
http://www.chrysler.com/download/pdf...y_Document.pdf

... I didnt read it too closely the first time. You phone is listed as tested with the 430n, but not the 730n. Still, I think it should work.

I looked through the owners manual and didn't see what class of Bluetooth my Razr V3 has, but it says it supports the following Bluetooth profiles:

Basic Imaging Profile (BIP)
Basic Profile Printing (BPP)
Dial Up Networking
Handsfree Profile (HFP)
Headset Profile (HSP)
OBEX FTP (Server Only)
OBEX Object Push (OPP)

Hopefully that helps.

I would wait to see if your phone works before you get a new one.

My manual is dated 2006, and it says nothing about those Bluetooth profiles you listed. I guess this WILL end up being a real adventure in about a week from now.
