I just HAD to try it. LOL
Hah! Thanks! Have been considering it for the daily commute some day when I am running late and get stuck in amongst the late commuters who can't plan far enough ahead to get up on time. Was concerned that "Well, officer, I was just updating the software when it stopped right in the middle of the road" might not play well.

With so many people doing the update, has anyone noticed any glitches with the new software? When I do a POI search, it doesn't seem to ever complete. It just seems like it's stuck in a continuos searching loop.

Edit: after posting the above issue, I tried it again, and it seemed to work. Not sure what happened the first time.

BREAKING NEWS - New uconnect update for MY13 & MY14

My Assist won't work after the update. Everything else works, Remote unlock works fine. When I press Assist on the rear view mirror its says This Vehicle is not registered with Uconnect. The support people helped me try some resets but no luck. I need to bring it to the Dealer. FUN !!!!!

Re: BREAKING NEWS - New uconnect update for MY13 & MY14

OK - I am totally confused. Initially this appeared to be an issue and update for MY '13 & '14's. The "Wired" article also seemed to include "early '15's"

I have an April 2015 build MY 15, not exactly "early." Is this hack / Uconnect update something I need to do? Just happened to stop by the local Jeep service for some parts for an old Jeep and asked the Service Manager about the hack saying I had a '15. He said there was no issue and he had not heard anything about it from Jeep - though he looked down when he replied... a classic body language sign of shall we say obfuscation.

Past experience has shown this site is much better informed than most dealers / service managers. Any help is appreciated. TIA

Re: BREAKING NEWS - New uconnect update for MY13 & MY14

Our early May build 2015 "baby" Cherokee DID require the update, so I'm guessing most 2015 Grands also require it.

Thanks. Did the Uconnect patch have any other added updates, or was it just to fix this remote hack access? Seems like some have reported changes [not improvements] in audio and other electronic / electrical systems.

Also I have this surround sound bug that it turns off my surround sound and then to turn it back on I have to press off and then on and then off a couple times till ON stays on. Two bugs that bug the heck out of me. Anyone else have the surround sound bug?
The surround sound bug is one that I don't have - I've checked that setting on mine several times over several days now and it's remained on. Did the dealership tell you anything about the EQ "wake up" bug? I doubt they'll know how to fix it, as it's apparently inherent within the Uconnect software.

So the software update fixed the surround sound problem(I think I haven't had it since), it was stated as a fix on the long list of fixes that this new update took care of (can see it at wk2jeeps.com/TSB/tsb_wk2_0807215.pdf). However the EQ problem was not on the TSB fixes list. The dealer had no idea what I was talking about but said the latest software should fix it... It did not. Woke the EQ up last night and this morning.

Also the new update reset my EQ and a few other settings such as sound the horn when locking and unlocking the jeep. Weird
