If you do not need the center channel speaker and it is not to your liking, you can eliminated it.
The problem that Alpine had with the center channel is quite simple, they had to follow the specifications that good old Chrysler gave them. Chrysler honestly believed they could match the HK systems with the Logic 7 using Alpine's Euphony surround sound matrix incorporated in the factory amp. It is interesting that Chrysler now in the Summit & SRT of JGC is using the HK and the Logic 7.
To achieve the center channel setup correctly, you need the front stage speakers properly matched. The goal is to create a wall of sound that you can hear the separation of the L & R channels. This is accomplished by the right speakers and the correct DSP units that give you the ability too fine tune.
Others have upgraded their center channel speaker only to a coaxial or a wide band full range and gave them the results they are looking for. Remember each person hears music and sound differently from the next person.
For those who really want to correct the premium Alpine Factory 7.1 surround sound system and bring it to the right level, you are going to have to spend $$$$.
Best for now.
