I am frequent visitor to a few BMW forums and they always have coding discussions that I would think would apply to, at least, the 2014+ Grand Cherokees. They are able to change a lot of the settings that are set regionally, such as US spec and EU spec brake lights and even change the traction control to EU settings(much less intrusive). That example is just scratching the surface, more examples can be found here . (BMW Forum)
My question is, does anything like that exist for the Jeeps? I feel like it would be possible to do the same type of coding on the Jeeps. I'm just curious if anyone has seen any tools to do this on the Jeeps? It's pretty cheap, relatively speaking, to do on the BMWs even if you buy your own tools to do it and not rely on a vendor.
Something like that would make a lot of mods much simpler and allow people to really customize settings of their cars how they want.
Just throwing this out as a discussion. I personally have not found anything outside of going to the dealership. I'm sure they have the capacity to do this but I would rather be able to do the customization myself.
EDIT:
With the coding, they are also able to get rid of hyper flashing with the LED lights without having to resort to resistors. Just one potential use for being able to code the car.
