Copying (adding) music to harddrive getting duplicates

Hello and Good morning!

So... I finally got some time off and spent a few hrs yesterday with the GCO. I added just over 12gigs of music to the hard drive, once done i was looking through the music folders and noticed that out of 3148 files copied over I had 311 duplicate or triplicate files.

It seems to only happen when copying over the USB connection, I tested from a few devices, external hard drive, HTC Thunderbolt phone, 16GB USB drive.

I searched and could not find anybody else reporting this issue. Never happened while copying from CDs.

Re: Copying (adding) music to harddrive getting duplicates

I have a 430N and have had the mp3 version of an album on my unit, then deleted it, and then had the unit copy the album straight from the CD with an unexpected result. The song names and album name were created with a qualifier on the end, giving the impression the mp3 version I deleted is still on the unit and not truly deleted or perhaps still in its database.
The duplicates you received, were they on the unit at some point in time?

Re: Copying (adding) music to harddrive getting duplicates

I have a few duplicate cuts on the 730 but I'm not positive they didn't come from different albums. Funny thing is, when playing off the HDD in shuffle mode, it always plays the duplicates together.

I have the 730 RHR unit. Updated to the 2.120 software and still have the issue of multiple copies.
