Destination time

What's up guys got a quick question. When we have XM traffic does it effect the destination time on the nav or would it be the same if there was no XM traffic?

Yeah, it definitely updates time to destination based on traffic info. It is, however, quite a bit less accurate than Waze. If I could get a good aftermarket nav unit with Waze built in I would definitely get that.

I actually didn't bother with XM radio but still pay for the traffic. I have like 5 years of Google Play Music, Amazon Prime and a large music library on my phone so didn't see the point. But being able to get traffic info still had some value, even if Waze is better.

Re: Destination time

My qualification for paying for a service is that it has to be better than the legal free options.

My experience is, it's not.

That goes for things like weather warnings, too. 99% of the time, the weather warning my phone already provided for me comes up on the Unconnect system as I'm already safely pulling into my garage at home.

Re: Destination time

XM sirus music is so compressed that is unlisenable. I'am not a music nerd but I can't listen to this ... I belive bit rate is somewhere around 32-64 bps. For comparision to have good quality phone conversation you need 16bps.

If you are in very isolated area and can't get anything else than maybe it makes sense.
