Re: Digital or Analog Speedo

Digital around areas with areas with lower speed limits, as it is easier to keep near those limits--the spaces with the 140 mph analog are harder to keep track of.

On the open highway, analog unless there are Smokey cars in the area.

The analog is easier to see rate of change than digital.

You can show the fuel consumption with the digital speedo?

Re: Digital or Analog Speedo

Digital speedo with fuel range on top left and trip b on the top right to keep track of my can.

Analog seems so 90s to me.

Re: Digital or Analog Speedo

I use the analog with the fuel economy/range indicator in the middle.

Re: Digital or Analog Speedo

I prefer the analog speedo with fuel economy in the middle. However, it is the wifes' ride and she prefers the LARGE digital speedo alone.

With all the other presets assigned to driver 1 or driver 2, why wouldn't the display settings be assignable?????? Everything else (seat position, steering wheel position, mirror position, radio presets...) are assignable. I think Jeep missed the boat on this one.

Re: Digital or Analog Speedo

I'm a two day old Grand Cherokee Limited owner. So I'm still learning it all.

I've been swapping between digital and analog display with the fuel economy display in the middle. Or large digital. Doesn't really make much difference except that speedo in analog mode is a bit crowded. I'd like to be able to reduce the span from 0-240 km/h to say 0-140 km/h. Make it easier to read.

Re: Digital or Analog Speedo

Today I had the chance for a 3hr round trip. First one since getting the car.

Suffice it to say I probably spent more time than I should have fiddling with the display settings.

I like how smooth and responsive that the emulated analog speedo is. However I feel that it is too crowded. The needle is too thick and they cram too many numbers in.

The car will never do more than 140 km/h. And what with the restrictive speed limits and penalties here in Australia I doubt that I'll take it over 120 km/h.

So, if they allowed the user/driver to adjust the speedo display, say from 0 to 120 km/h (but with a high upper limit for where it's legal to do the speeds) it would be a better display.

The digital can be distracting as it flickers between say 99 to 101 km/h when trying to sit on 100. With the analog it doesn't do that. But I marvel at how smoothly it moves.

Re: Digital or Analog Speedo

Changed mine around yesterday before a day trip. Top left, ave fuel economy, top right, distance to empty. Digital speedo and economy info under it and occasionally selecting "Trip B" (Trip A records tank fill to tank fill info).
