The Lockpick device provides power to the camera cable.

Then just wait for later this season when I will install cameras in the side mirrors.

I used a Lockpick which has its own power source output. I actually have a Lockpick Air now, Miracast and all. Pretty nice.

Re: DIY 2014 Grand Cherokee Front View Camera

Well I've been busy recently retooling my Subaru CarPC from Windows to a Google Nexus 7. I will turn my attention back to Jeep in a few weeks but I did use DashCommand and Torque with the Jeep and I was quite pleased. Gosh the new toys are even making me consider an Android phone after a decade long streak of Nokia Windows phones.

Back in the day I was at the forefront of CarPC and DIY on the Subaru boards. Ten years later, I still love my little heavily modded Subaru. Even though I sigh every time I see a Q50 or an S4, I am going to drive it till the wheels fall off.

So stay tuned for some additional cameras, DashCommand graphics and Miracast awesomeness on the Jeep.

In the fuse box engine compartment. There are many 12v switched circuits.

You could simply pull the fuse out of the circuit and wrap the bare conductor around one of the fuse legs. Which is jackleg. You can buy a mini fuse tap on Amazon and do it that way.

Common sense on the circuit. Look at the circuit description and find a small circuit that you know only comes when car is running. Example radio, cigar outlet (I think that is one of the descriptions).

Hope that helps
