Re: DIY 2014 Grand Cherokee Front View Camera

Is there a way of changing cameras with the input change button behind steering wheel once one camera is showing? Only scimed the last few pages but have subed this thread.

Also interested in your carpc have you got more info on another site? I was building one for my previouse car ford falcon BA xr6 turbo 04 model in Aus but finding the power for the pc stopped me. Had all the touch screen adapters and think it was Centrafuse? purchased for it then lost interest but am willing to get it going again to sell on ebay or something

I only installed a front camera; the rear camera was a factory installation. I believe the hardware Lockpick solution is automatically enabled to switch to rear view camera when in R (reverse) and to front view camera when in D (drive) up to 5 mph. Switching is handled automatically.

As for the CarPC, yes there is a topic on MP3car.com but I have long moved from that project. I have now a Nexus 7 (2013) with a custom ROM and boot file that works wonderfully. It goes into deep sleep when off, it powers on automatically from the ignition key, it enables a fast charge mode, even if the battery drains it will boot up to KitKat when power is applied. I run a number of apps optimized for 7 inch tablets in an automotive setting.

When either the front or rear camera is activated with the Customtronix Jailbreak system, you can switch to the other by hitting the Back button. However, this option terminates once you attain sufficient speed to deactivate the UConnect camera controls. There have been discussions of ways around the Jeep control modules, but I haven't seen anything that I would want to try at this point.
