Anyways, after realizing my activated Nav was inferior to the one that comes activated I am still ticked off to this day. For them to want to charge $595 just to activate Navigation and u can buy a $200 Nav with way more features is ridiculous. Other than the Nav directions on the dashboard it's really not worth no $595. Their claim is that the activated one is 16gb flash drive and the non activated one is 8 gig so all the features cant be added to the non activated one. Really now, you're telling me Chrysler couldn't just make all the radios come with 32GB drive. I'm pretty sure there is enough room in the radio for them to store a bigger hard drive. I like my Jeep but for $43K I expected my factory Nav to be top of the line.
I'm not disagreeing with you that Factory 8.4AN is the way to go.
But what "features" are limited due to internal drive size?
I don't think the internal drive size is that big a deal. Space hungry "Music" isn't stored on it. It's probably space for the NAV maps, music database, contacts, and probably the very short list of apps etc. Maps being the biggy. The rest is pretty small stuff.
All music is stored externally (USB/SD) or streamed (iPhone/Pandora).
There is absolutely no limitation "space" wise on the 8.4AN. So I don't know what 32GB would gain (currently).
