Re: Droid 2, Droid X, and U-Connect

I do not have the WK2. But I have some knowledge of the bluetooth and phones pairing with radio's. It's the phone that makes all the diference.

I am currently running a kenwwod with parrot blue tooth. I have been using this unit for 2 years. for the 1st year and 1/2 I had an Iphone 3gs, when it would connect no one could ever hear me and it would drop quite often. So, I went to my audio guy; he paired his blackberry and it was crystal clear on both ends.

For the past 6 mos I have been using my droid X and though its not as good as the blackberry, its close.

When they make car radio's w/bluetooth they try to keep to an industry standard, the uconnect is just a bluetooth. When phones are made they make them to their own standard. The andriod froyo is a universal op system, but the bluetooth can vary from brand to brand. It does suck, but the best way to find out which phone gives the best call quailty is to find a friend and try it. I hate RIM(blackberry), so droid X it was.

Hope this helps. I personally believe Iphone is a BIG FAIL, maybe it will be better with Verizion serve. But I love my X and would not give it up for any other phone

No problems with my evo4g and 430N for calling. Streaming audio over Bluetooth is another story though....

Original Droid, no issues. The missus has an Eris and no issues connecting with that one either.

Re: Droid 2, Droid X, and U-Connect

I have an HTC Hero that will not connect - just got the car yesterday. I get an error message asking me to put in a USB device for an update. It's funny, though, because the sales guy was able to get my husband's Hero to connect last night when we picked up the car.

What about text messaging SMS with Droid and 430N? ... I'm crossing my fingers!

i had to do my wifes droid 2 three or four times before it would connect, but like i said it drops the bluetooth connection a few seconds after it sees the phone. it reconnects when a call comes in but will not connect to make a call.
