If you live in one of the states listed above then your state has no restriction concerning video playback in vehicles, and you need not answer this post. Thanks!
tried this out as soon as i read the thread...I'm in NJ and it worked fine last night, and today. As stated by others, the vehicle needed to be in park.

Re: DVD Play on 430N

It is interesting to hear that you only have to have the jeep in park for the video to play. I guess that the jeeps sold in hawaii need to have the ebrake engaged to get the video to show up.

Re: DVD Play on 430N

In FL, no video but get audio just fine. Tried 3 different dvd's all with the same result - dvd played audio but no video. I was in park, and tried both engine running and off, and also ebrake on and off - no change.

This just does not make any sense. These are 50 state cars and can drive anywhere! What happens when you cross the state line to a state that doesn't allow front movie, are you fined, arrested? Tooooo many bureaucrats out of control! I haven't checked mine yet, but I'm in California, so I'm surprised that I'm even allowed to have a car!

Chrysler Engineers are working on a fix where the GPS determines which state you are in and enables/disables the appropriate capabilities. For an extra charge, you can get a power cable for your Valentine 1 that will automatically turn it off when you cross the Connecticut border.

Thanks for your post! CA is a restricted state per Chrysler. Please let us know if you have working video on your 2011 JGC while in park and without lockpick?

Thanks! This makes eight states that are restricted per Chryslers email to me that have no problem viewing video while in park. I think this proves that chrysler was not telling the truth in the email they sent me.

I have the Rear DVD Entertainment Center and could watch Sleeping Beauty on the front screen while in park and I'm not in any of the above states. Once I shift out then I only get the movie's audio, which sounds pretty decent.
