No personal experience on my WK2, but a sound deadening treatment will always give a worthwhile result.
Worthwhile of course, is up to an individual's interpretation. It's a lot of labor or a lot of $$ to pay someone to do it.
I built a home theater so did a lot of research on acoustic treatments. As they say in home theater, "I'd rather have $500 speakers with $5,000 worth of acoustic treatment than $5,000 speakers with $500 worth of acoustic treatment"
That being said, the WK2 is a very solidly built vehicle and the interior materials lend themselves well to acoustics...but inside the door, if you can reduce vibration by any amount thus redirecting energy away from the door and into the speaker/cone...your sound is going to improve.
You should definitely do it and report back to us
