Re: Easier way to use the navigation?

It responds incorrectly. like saying "McDonald's" would be recognized as "Don's auto body repair". I have Siri if I hold the Uconnect button longer so I just use that instead now.

Odd...

...when I search for McDonald's, it refers me to my primary care physician....

I just got back from a 3500 mile trip in the western USA and I have given up on the VR. Just ridiculous when you say a city name for a nearby city and it hasn't a clue! Leaves a lot to be desired.

Re: Easier way to use the navigation?

I'm assuming you have the 8.4 Uconnect too? After my post yesterday I decide to send jeep another complaint. Just to get it into their system I guess. I know that absolutely nothing will come from it other than a reply saying "pay our dealers $90 an hour to diagnose it".

I used to work for the company, and on the exact line, that the microphones are made. Those microphones go into Ford, Mercedes, Nissan, and DCX vehicles since VR started and I have never heard of them having issues. The fault is with the Uconnect software but DCX won't admit it.

Yes. I have the 8.4. I always thought it had to be the software. It hears me. It doesn't understand me.

Re: Easier way to use the navigation?

You can use your iPhone for Nav and Listen to Radio/Sat and still get the directions over the radio.

Turn on HFP (Hands Free Protocol) in each app.

Only iPhones can do it. Waze, Apple Maps and Google Maps all have the option. Waze is actually default on and the other two is defaulted off.

They don't always call it HFP but that's what it is.

It will interrupt the Radio like a Phone call will when it needs to announce a turn and then go back to what you were listening to. Works pretty darn good and I use it all the time.

The option is somewhat buried in each app and you might have to connected and routing for the option to be visible. Depends on the app, they all do it differently.

P.S. 2017 voice commands work 100% better in the 2017. I think they moved the Mics to headliner from the rear view mirror.

As Ihor from Detroit once said on the news: "I don't listen to women yelling, I tell em to shut up" lol.

There are a few females on the forum and talk like this is pretty disrespectful. Joking or not. I wouldn't have my Jeeps if not for the lady in my life.

Not funny.
