EVIC Gear Display

I notice that the actual gear that my new 2014 GC Ltd has displays D or S depending on what I have selected, but the actual gear (1 through 8) is so dimmed out in the display that it is only barely visible and then depending on actual lighting. I can barely see the ride go through the gears in daytime but would like the gear to show as illuminated for the selected gears(R,N,D,S). Can anyone tell me how to turn on the numbers (1-8) in the Evic?

Actually the gears will show on my 4x4 when in paddle shift mode. They appear in the EVIC next to the D/S display. But when in auto 4 wheel drive, the numbers are dimmed out. The shifting is so smooth, it is f IIun to see how the ride goes through the gears from 1 to 8. This feature may not be available on non Quadra trac rides. There are so many build codes and some features may be added. My air bags say SRT. My ride is a 4X4 ltd with moonroof, 20" tires and the RA4 8.4AN radio. The build options were 23H.

Look for it when your new ride shows up or at the dealer. No one (yet) ? I may have to go to dealer but can't find anything in the manual

Re: EVIC Gear Display

I found it once I was driving, and the gears were actually changing. It is a bit dim But I have no trouble seeing it so far day or night.

Re: EVIC Gear Display

Yes, the number is there to the lower right of the D/S ..

When you go into paddle mode it gets brighter. When you aren't in paddle mode it is just informational.. on mine it is as bright as the rest of the unselected shift positions.

maybe the bright/dim is a signal to alert that paddle mode is engaged. since the Evic switch has 4 positions around the ok buiion maybe some combo makes the gear position more visible?????
