Re: Ferrari Navigation

Yeah Ferrari has been using the Uconnect system for a few years now
[at least in the Californias] that I know of.

Re: Ferrari Navigation

You would think for the six figure price tag they would spring for something a little nicer...

Re: Ferrari Navigation

this reminds me of the cady commercial airing nowadays...

with the CTS-V..... showing a gorgeous black CTS-V running on the track with a ferrari and then saying Ferrari borrowed this technology from cadys!

WIN!!!

Its nice, but not Ferrari nice. I thought the system in my last BMW was nicer, but some features in the Uconnect are more functional.

I certainly agree that the system in our Jeeps is very nice looking and very functional.

The Nav system in my Range Rover Sport looked like it came out of a '91 Pontiac Firebird.

The Nav system is also significantly better looking and has more features than the one in my Porsche 911. Although the Porsche is much more significant in every other way. Although it can't tow or haul very much or handle snow very well.

Re: Ferrari Navigation

IMO, the display and graphics on the Jeep systems are junk. It looks very 5 years ago and is in need of a user interface update with higher resolution screens and nicer graphics.

However, in terms of utility and function, it's just fine. Voice control is surprisingly good and the menu systems are easier to handle than the ones in my wife's Infiniti.

It wouldn't take much to improve the look and feel of the thing, but it gets the job done quite well.

Re: Ferrari Navigation

There are some features of the 730H that are done well, like the voice commands and hands free phone... but the menus are at least 5 years old, my 5 year old $300 garmin nuvi is a much better Nav system, my 5 year old $90 clarion radio does iPod integration much better... the google maps on my $600 iPad works much better than the traffic joke the radio provides, along with providing better local POIs, weather, Sirius radio, display quality... etc.

One of the recent Jeep surveys had questions about if it would make sense to just put a good quality display in the dash and let things like smart phones run it, or a space to mount/plug in a iPad or other tablet of the day.. Sounds like a good idea... as the OEM radio manufactures are so late getting features to market.

IMHO, all the factory in dash units leave something to be desired but gone are the days of easy replacement with something better.
