Few Questions

I have a few questions about the Navs in these jeeps, first is for anyone who decided to activate the Nav later on, how much did your dealer charge you? is it 600 from chrysler everywhere? I dont see how reflashing would be that labor intensive to charge? Unless you're paying for the actual thing from chrysler? Second, the girl wants to know if the radio itself is customizable? I haven't tinkered with it that much yet, just did presets and what not and am loving how easy it is to operate but can the background be changed or anything like that? sorry if these questions have already been answered somewhere else i did search but haven't struck the right thread yet.

But on a good note I have really enjoyed all the information coming from you guys on vehicles this new! I've already learned so much, and am defiantly going to upgrade her headlights to HID! Im just surprised Chrysler didn't pick up on ford with the ability to change colors with the ambient lighting! Sorta disappointing but the stock color is pretty nice already! Fingers crossed she doesn't run into any of the problems some of you other guys have had with the Nav systems (sorry im not 100% sure what her *headunit* if you will is)

Re: Few Questions

When you activate the nav, you are not just paying for the labor, you are buying the software. You don't get it for free just because you didn't get it time of purchase.

Re: Few Questions

I understand that I was just curious if the software is the same everywhere or if there's a cheaper place to get it.

No, it will run you about $600 at any dealer. You can't just go out and get the software somewhere. You should of paid the extra in the beginning and got the RA4 radio.

Sorry, I must have misunderstood;

"I dont see how reflashing would be that labor intensive to charge?"

Re: Few Questions

Yeah I was just confused on exactly what they did to give you nav so thank you for clearing it up. So basically you're paying for like if it were disk driven nav and you had to get a data DVD. You're just paying for the content not the actual process. Gothya
