Finally Got it! 730 RHR phone Question.

The summit arived on Wednesday. It is AMAZING. Honestly, it is nicer than my Q7 by a long shot. It drives a bit more like an SUV than a sedan-turned-suv. The Hemi has more juice than my V8 Q7. The finishes are far superior. THe ride is more comfortable. Everything is better, but... The phone. Well, the bluetooth sound is actually 100 times better than the q7. Everyone used to complain when I was on the wireless in the bQ7. Now they dont even know when I am in the jeep.

So what is wrong with the phone? In the q7 I could pull up my phone list with my hands on the wheel. I could then view the phone list and scroll to the number that I wanted to call. It seems to me that it is not even possible to pull up a visual version ofthe phone list in the Jeep. I can use the U-Connect and listen to it arduously list names, but who has time for that. I can also scroll to the number that I want to dial on the phone itself, but that isnt nearly as easy as seeing it on the screen (not to mention far less safe). So please help. IS it possible to list my contacts in a visual manner on the screen and then click on a contact to dial the number. I find it mind numbing that a 2011 vehicle would be less capable than my 2007 q7 in this regard. I use my phone a lot when I am on the road, and the U-Connect voice recognition just doesnt cut it. It may work well for some, but it pretty much sucks at recognizing full names from a contact list of close to 1000. That being said, I can live with this one deficiency if it turns out that there is no way to list the names.

Other than that. The jeep is a true pleasure. It is snowing now here in New england. I am bummed that my baby is going to become a mess, but it will certainly be fun to test it on the roads today! Also, the Huskey mats that were suggested on this forum are awesome. The match the black carpet in my saddle interior perfectly. They fit like a dream.

Oh yeah, my new baby is a rugged brown, hemi, saddle, rhr, dvd for my kid, adaptive cruise, roof bars, etc.

Last question: there is no manual for the 730 RHR. Any ideas why?

Thanks!

Congrats...!!! Where are you located? I am S. Dennis (Cape Cod). Purchased my Overland from Dan's Jeep in Westboro, MA. Know the owner for years. My 5th Jeep, 2nd Hemi. By far, the 2011 is a huge step up. Good luck.

Re: Finally Got it! 730 RHR phone Question.

Newbury. Herb chambers. Great guys. No gripe with tread lightly and gave me kbb good condition price for my q7. Lawless and a few others were as much as 8k off herbs price. My 3rd jeep gc. Had a ml and q7 in between. This one is nicer than all others. Crushes the ml amd q7 for interior. Cant wait for the wagoneer rebirth in 2013. My wife will inherit my summit when that baby comes out. Wagoneer was my first car and i have been waiting a long time for the rebirth.

Re: Finally Got it! 730 RHR phone Question.

Used Affilate Pricing, plus the dealer gave back Holdback $s. I owned Audi's for several years, last one 2003 Allroad V8. That was an awesome vehicle. Jumped to Infiniti (for my wife) after that. Loving Infinite. Honestly, could not justify the extra cost of a Summit over a loaded Overland. Basically, the same car, with few exceptions. Personal preference. The WK2 value/price points beats Audi, BMW, Benz, Acura, VW hands down. Good luck with the Summit....!!!

Re: Finally Got it! 730 RHR phone Question.

Congrats Patschamps. I'm also curious re: your question about the phonebook downloading to the screen. I currently have a Blackberry Tour and the phonebook downloaded but I could only access it using voice prompts. I'm due for a phone upgrade soon, so I may un-pair the current phone and hope that the replacement (whatever that ends up being) gets the job done. Other than that, I love the RHR. I have 5000+ songs on the ipod and I can access it every time within 30 seconds.

The only way to manually access you address book is:
MENU-My Files-My Address Book, then scroll down until you see your phone...

I couldn't wait anymore and found a V6 Summit, Mineral Gray with Saddle Interior. I love it. The RHR issue is a bit frustrating though. Good luck getting a manual from Chrysler, they don't have it yet. After 2 calls (One to Jeep and one directly to Chrysler Customer Care) I was told to go to www.techauthority.com. It costs $15 there. I called them (Chrysler) back to say that I shouldn't have to be paying for a manual that should have been provided with my new vehicle, and they confrenced me in with tech publications. They only have the RER manual there and no word on when they will receive the RHR manual, NICE! I was then assigned a case number and told to go ahead and order the manual from techauthority.com and they will reimburse me the cost of getting the manual. It takes 4-6 weeks to get your money back.

This is the info I have if you want to go this route:

Chrysler Customer Assistance Line : 1-800-992-1997
(I spoke with Melisa)

Once you get your case number, send your receipt and case number to:

Chrysler Customer Care
P.O. Box 21-8007
Auburn Hills, MI 48321

Re: Finally Got it! 730 RHR phone Question.

^Thank you. It would have taken me a while to figure that out. Of course, if I had a a manual, I could have looked it up. Thanks again for the info.
