And they told me there is no way that they would go below $86/year + tax + traffic. Like you said, have to wait them out. Want to get the best yearly rate possible, because then they let you renew at that rate.

I'll wait and see if I can get what I have/had for the last year in my Overland at the best price possible: Sirius Premier + Travel Link + NavTraffic + NavWeather +Taxes < $80/year.

Or who have capped data plans. Unlimited data is going away on the two big carriers.

I'm a news junky. I like the fact that I can punch a couple of buttons to switch from an FM news-and-talk station to a Sirius news-and-talk station, rather than plug in a phone and call up an ap. That's worth $70/year to me.

Depending on your data plan, it might take you a long time to use it up. To use up 3GB of data using Pandora would have you roughly 96 hours. So if you had a 1 hour commute to/from work, that would still be under half of the 3GB plan.

Same here. All I listen to is Patriot or Fox Talk. And I am frequently without cell coverage, and I'm in West Virginia typically two or more times per year and most of the way you can't even get AM.

Still though I'd rather pay $25 rather than $70. I figure that they owe me for selling me a lifetime service for my last truck, then telling me later that when they said switch it to up to three radios that they can't be car radios. What's up with that?

Heck, my RHR just started working right with the software update and now my Sirius just expired. I should have Jeep pay for the renewal for not putting a radio out that works as it should.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

My Jeep subscription expired on 9/1 but they didn't turn it off until 9/10. I waited a couple of days and got the so-called half price offer minus $9. So it came to $77 + $11.88 for Travel Link + $2 invoice fee because I didn't want to give them a credit card. The price is up $8 from what I paid on my other radios last December but they refused to go any lower. I'm OK with it at that price.

I have a 4gb plan on my phone. I stream Pandora/Google music/IHeartRadio on my commute and during work, every day. I also use it as a hotspot for my wife's Nook and another tablet for my kids when away from the house and never came close to hitting the max. We are halfway through September and I am still under 1GB of data usage on my phone.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

Well I got my renewal letter and it had two prices for the same 1 year of service. One was $159.39 and the other was $175.01. I called and the best they would offer was $95 for 1 year plus taxes and fees. I offered $200 for 3 years and they said they don't negoiate for multi year contracts. I said no thanks and hung up. I guess the games will now begin.

Since XM and Sirius merged a while ago, I thought all their programming was the same. Am I wrong?

We have it in both Jeeps and they Treat them as separate companies.

We had a factory radio was Sirius but that one broke ,So we installed a Kenwood that runs on the XM platform. So , we basically had to start a new plan under the XM set up and pay more for the Sirius channels we were used to.

I talked to a manager and he said there was nothing they could do at this point being the Platforms ( I am guessing signal range) were different and that I would be getting a phone call from a customer service agent in a few days ( this never happened) . He recommended telling them about it because they get alot of complaints about how it is set up

I just turned on the Sirius in my Grand Cherokee ( 2005) and it runs on the original platform . So I have 2 accounts now.

I did bitch and got the price reduced to $8 ( $109 a year , $135 with a one time activation fee) a month for the GC and when we Bitched about the Commander being Xm and having to pay more , They gave us that at half price as well.

I dont listen to music but the wife likes it and Martha stewert and DR radio. The Commander account we also have the streaming on the PC and to the Phones, which we do use. This costs a bit more. We will listen to the radio classics ( I am only 40 and she is 41 , We used to listen to books on CD when we traveled ) . We like it because we do alot of traveling for my sons soccer games , tournaments ,etc.
