Was told $50 total (no re-start fee), but I haven't seen it on my bank record yet....

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I just received renewal bill with "regular" price - $44.65 total for 3 months. Called, first line CSR couldn't do any better. Said I wanted to cancel, was transferred to "cancellation agent" and she gave me the same deal I had before - $25 for 5 months + some fees for a total of $32.36. Last time total was $27.44 but I decided not to argue

FYI: I mentioned this $50/year deal that is described above and she said she has been working there for 3 years and never heard about such a deal.

EDIT: The bank statement indicated just the $50 charge. It also had the following text:

Visa Purchase (Non-pin) Recur Sxm*siriusxm.com888-635-5144ny

This indicated the charge is recurring, so I will have to monitor my statements every few months to be certain this is for 12 months. Then, I will have to see what can be done about making certain I'm not automatically charged for the next year at full price.

FYI, I intended to edit my previous post, but couldn't....

$50.00 for the year is very good. I was only offered a six month promo rate.

I just played the 34.77 for six months game with them. This included taxes & a $2.00 fee for them to mail me a bill because I refused to give them a CC or debit card over the phone.

If you give them a card # they will automatically charge your card for whatever the current rate is at the end of the promo period! You have agreed to this by giving them a credit or debit card or even a bank check when you accept their promotional offers as per their customer agreement.

http://www.siriusxm.com/pdf/siriusxm...eement_eng.pdf

You must cancel by calling 866 635-2349 before your promotional term expires to not be charged or billed for Sirius service at the non discounted current renewal rate!

Then you are free to replay this ridiculous game all over again!

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

Sirius/XM is a dinosaur about to become extinct. They have to play games with their customers to keep the cashflow spigot open. Quality and service is degrading, and customer service is a con game. I've already turned down free promo offers just to avoid doing business with them.

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I'm waking this thread up to ask a question. I see on the Sirius site Travel Link is $1.99 a month. I would be interested in keeping that service when my one year trial offer expires. Does anyone know if you can subscribe to Travel Link as a stand alone service without the Sirius music, etc. package?

What am I supposed to do without sirius since there's no way i was gonna get a cd player?? Lol. Everyone beats them up on the deal, when you threaten to cancel they give you the 49.99 a year,it's cool I'll play that game every year to have a variety of programming plus my sd card with 2 zillion songs on it.

Never mind! Found this about Travel Link on Sirius website:"When subscribing to these services without an active SiriusXM Satellite Radio subscription, a minimum 12-month term is required."

Re: Free Sirius almost over, are you going to renew?

I just renewed. 5 for 25 is their best deal. He said it is their best deal and he has to tell me that. I mean at first I had to just keep turning down offers and saying I wanted to cancel though. Easy enough. He said if somone got $50 for a year the Sirius employee gave them extra credits that Sirius doesn't want their employees doing, so that could put their job in jeopardy for doing that.

So I got 5 months for $25.00 + tax/fees. And I stipulated to not renew automatically but to send me an invoice in 5 months, so he put a future $2 credit on my account so I won't have to pay a $2.00 mailing fee either.

Can't answer to that, except to say this was the offer on the phone right out of the gate (after ignoring the various mailings).
Enjoying the Sat goodness. When the year is up, I may just use streaming audio from the internet again.
